A collaboration between ABGH and Color of Crohn’s and Chronic Illness (COCCI), “What’s Cookin’” gave us a chance to break bread with Golden Globe-Award winner and Emmy nominated actor and Crohn’s patient advocate, Tyler James Williams of Abbot Elementary, Everybody Hates Chris, Stranger Things, and more. Catch this intimate convo between ABGH President and Co-founder, Dr. Sophie Balzora, COCCI President and founder, Melodie Narain-Blackwell, and Rwenshaun Miller, psychologist and founder of Eustress Inc, a nonprofit focusing on raising mental health awareness and destigmatizing mental illness in Black and brown communities. We’ll be talking about the importance of mental health in IBD, and how constructively addressing mental health can positively impact the patient care journey.

IBD is a complex disease that requires a multidisciplinary team approach to work with patients to get them the quality care they deserve. In this segment moderated by ABGH Founding Board Member and IBD GI expert, Dr. Ugo Iroku, and featuring rheumatologist Dr. Alvin Wells, dermatologist, Dr. Ryan Turner, and registered dietician, Tamar Samuels, they will discuss why a multidisciplinary team approach is needed in the quality care of IBD, and how to take steps in building the team.
